Egypt. This land of mystery has for centuries filled visitors with awe and stirred the imagination. People from all nations have journeyed to Egypt to stand before the Pyramids of Giza, explore the tombs of Thebes, and marvel at the power of Ramses at Abu Simbel. The ancient Romans were enchanted by a Queen called Cleopatra and left their fingerprints on the city of Alexandria. Napoleon came to Egypt and legend has it that his troops used the Sphinx as target practice. Today, tourists still visit this magical land to be inspired and enthralled by all that Egypt is and has to offer.

Egypt is a riot of experiences, blending modern and ancient; Islamic and Coptic. Where else can you find Disney-like trams carrying hot and weary tourists to views tombs of pharaohs? Or have your view of the towering pyramids (which can be seen from space) hidden behind a wall of smog? Or sit in Pizza Hut and gaze directly into the eyes of the Sphinx a few hundred feet away.

Carolina has taken this Egyptian Adventure and I am still living mine. We will be your guides for this journey (watch that pothole!) and answer questions you may have on our Ask Away page. You may want to learn a little more about a particular site (we may have first hand experience), or find out if your favorite brands are available here, or seek out advice on how to survive the ever changing bureaucratic red tape. We hope to cover all aspects of being a foreigner in Egypt as we have experienced it as a tourist and a resident. Check out our Anecdotes page for advice other travellers have passed on to us or leave your own experiences from your adventures.

There is no other place in the world quite like Egypt. We hope you enjoy your Egyptian Adventure with us!
